This policy describes how Wordback, an Outlook add-in from Chronodat LLC, handles personal information. It applies to the add-in hosted at wordback.chronodat.com. The company-wide Chronodat policy is at chronodat.com/Privacy.
What Wordback is
Wordback drafts a reply to the Outlook message you have open and inserts that draft above your signature when you ask it to. You choose Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, or Mistral and use your own API key. Wordback does not send the email. You review the draft first. The add-in runs in Outlook on Windows, Outlook on the web, and Outlook for Mac. This release does not include Outlook mobile.
Personal information Wordback processes
- Mailbox identity. The display name and email address of the mailbox that is already open, shown in the task pane. Wordback does not create a separate account.
- The open message. Subject, body, quoted earlier messages, and image or text attachments on that item. When you ask for a draft or a summary, this text is sent to Wordback at wordback.chronodat.com and forwarded to the AI provider you chose. Email addresses and message ids are removed before the text is sent. Polish and Translate send the draft in the pane.
- Your API key. The Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, or Mistral key you paste. It is saved with the mailbox and sent with that request to the provider you chose. Chronodat does not keep a copy.
- Preferences. Your name, tone, signature, branding, and the saved key. These are stored with the Outlook mailbox as add-in roaming settings, and in the browser that opened the pane.
Chronodat does not sell, rent, or trade this information. Mailbox content is not used for advertising.
Where content is stored
Chronodat does not keep the message, the attachments, the draft, or the API key. The request passes through wordback.chronodat.com on its way to the provider you chose: Gemini (Google), OpenAI, Claude (Anthropic), Grok (xAI), DeepSeek, or Mistral. That provider processes the request under its own terms. Preferences stay in the mailbox roaming settings for this add-in. Wordback does not call Microsoft Graph and does not store mail in a Chronodat database.
Licensing
The Chronodat license is $499 per tenant per year and covers unlimited Outlook users in that Microsoft 365 tenant. Mailbox content is not billing data. The AI provider key is an account you hold with that provider.
How to stop
Remove the add-in in Outlook to stop new drafts. Roaming settings remain in the mailbox until Outlook clears that add-in’s settings. You can clear the API key in Preferences, then AI.
