Wordback, from Chronodat LLC, drafts a reply to the email you have open and inserts it into Outlook above your signature. It runs in Outlook on Windows, Outlook on the web, and Outlook for Mac. This release does not include Outlook mobile.
Use the add-in
- Open a message and, in the AI Reply group on the ribbon, choose Wordback.
- In Preferences, then AI, choose Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, or Mistral and paste your own API key. Choose Test connection.
- Choose Write reply, review the draft, then insert it. Wordback does not send the email.
Your name, tone, signature, branding, and API key are saved with the Outlook mailbox. There is no separate Wordback account and no Chronodat subscription.
Also in the pane
- Summarize. Read a short summary of the open message before you write.
- Polish and Translate draft. Clean up the draft, or rewrite it in another language. Undo puts the previous wording back.
- Quick replies. When the draft is empty, start from Say yes, Decline, Ask for details, Suggest a time, or Say thanks.
- Insert a template. Drop in a reply you saved under Preferences, then Templates.
If something does not work
- Write reply asks for a key. Open Preferences, then AI, paste the key for the provider you selected, and test the connection.
- The ribbon still shows an older name. Remove Wordback in Outlook and add it again from the current manifest.
- The draft is in the pane, not in the email. Choose Reply in Outlook, or Insert into email if you already started the reply. Wordback does not send it.
- You are on a phone. This release does not include Outlook mobile. Use Outlook on Windows, the web, or Mac.
